Easy Homemade Granola Recipe For The Whole Family
This healthy homemade granola recipe is quick and easy to make. It’s also super tasty and a great way to incorporate nuts and seeds into a healthy diet.
My husband came up with the recipe, and I originally scoffed at a grain-free granola recipe. What’s granola without some oats?! Now, however, I think this is the best granola and like it far better than any store-bought or oat-based granola.
This delicious honey granola is made with toasted pumpkin seeds, almond slices, coconut flakes, and cashews. My family eats it with yogurt, oatmeal, or snack on it as is.

My whole family loves it, including my two young kids. We crush it up for them to prevent choking risk and sprinkle it over this kid-friendly pumpkin yogurt parfait, or give a handful of it to my picky eater when she won’t eat any of her dinner.
I crush up a couple big handfuls at a time with my espresso tamper and store it separately in an airtight container for my kids.

How To Make Granola At Home The Easy Way
The most important thing to keep in mind when making this granola recipe is to be sure to buy already roasted and toasted cashews and almonds.
Raw pumpkin seeds and coconut flakes toast quickly in the oven, but it takes a lot longer to toast raw cashews and almonds. So, to make life easy, buy those almond slices and cashews already roasted and toasted!
Where To Buy Ingredients for Homemade Granola?
My favorite place to get unsalted roasted cashews and raw pumpkin seeds is Natural Grocers. While it can be a spendy store for many items, the nuts, and bulk spices are a pretty good deal compared to other stores.

For honey, toasted almond slices, and coconut flakes, Trader Joe’s is our go-to place.
Of course, you can find these ingredients in many stores, but I wanted to share my favorite spots.
Again, be sure to get pre-roasted cashews and toasted almond slices to make life easy when making this easy homemade granola.

- Gently mix all the nuts and seeds.
- Drizzle half of the honey over the mixture.

- Drizzle the remaining half of the honey and mix again.
- Put the baking sheet with the pumpkin seeds, sliced almonds, cashews, and coconut chips into the oven for 8 minutes (take a quick peek after 5 minutes to make sure the granola is not getting too crispy.
- Let fully cool and then store in an airtight container.
